Developed alongside the smaller Daimler Dingo scout car, it gave reconnaissance units a vehicle capable of both finding the enemy and defending itself when contact was made.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003eThe Daimler carried a \u003cstrong\u003e2-pounder gun together with a coaxial 7.92mm Besa machine gun\u003c\/strong\u003e, giving it considerably more firepower than a lightly armed scout car. King \u0026amp; Country produced the vehicle in the markings of \u003cstrong\u003e44 Brigade, XXX Corps\u003c\/strong\u003e, representing a formation that fought from Normandy through France and the Netherlands and into Germany. The model also includes an NCO vehicle commander from the \u003cstrong\u003e11th Hussars\u003c\/strong\u003e, a regiment closely associated with British armoured reconnaissance. \u003cspan class=\"contents\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"auto\"\u003eThe real Daimler saw wartime service in North Africa, Europe and the Far East, and late-war reconnaissance troops in North-West Europe could operate Daimlers alongside the smaller Dingo scout cars.
