Canadian-Armenian photographer \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003eYousuf Karsh\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e was selected to take the photographs and was told he had only a very brief period in which to complete the session.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChurchill entered the room having just lit one of his famous cigars. Karsh was concerned that the cigar smoke would interfere with the photograph and asked the Prime Minister to put it aside.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChurchill refused.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eKarsh then approached Churchill, apologised and quickly removed the cigar himself.
