SSB-24 – Thunder on the Plains – The Fight When Roman Nose Was Killed, 17–19 September 1868 – Cheyenne Warriors – Cheyenne Coyote Society Warriors (2 pcs)
Among the most respected military societies of the Cheyenne Nation, the Coyote Society produced warriors renowned for their courage, discipline and devotion to protecting their people. Membership was earned through proven bravery rather than birth, and these elite fighting men served as leaders during times of conflict, setting an example for younger warriors through acts of extraordinary courage.
This set commemorates the dramatic fighting of 17–19 September 1868, during the campaign in which the legendary Cheyenne war leader Roman Nose was killed. Regarded by both his own people and his opponents as one of the greatest Plains warriors of his generation, Roman Nose became famous for his fearless leadership, exceptional horsemanship and repeated successes against United States forces. His death marked the end of an era for the Cheyenne and remains one of the defining moments of the Plains Indian Wars.
These beautifully sculpted Coyote Society warriors capture the proud traditions and distinctive appearance of the Cheyenne people with remarkable authenticity. Every detail, from the traditional clothing and weapons to the carefully painted beadwork and feather adornments, has been recreated with exceptional care. The dynamic poses convey movement and determination, making the figures equally impressive as standalone pieces or within a larger Plains Indian display.
The Military Workshop is proud to offer historically significant miniatures that celebrate the rich military traditions of cultures from around the world. This outstanding set honours the courage and legacy of the Cheyenne warriors while providing collectors with beautifully crafted figures that will become highlights of any American frontier collection.
