USBS-15 – The American Civil War 1861–1865 – The Battle of Brandy Station, 9th June 1863 – Army of the Potomac – Cavalry Corps – Union Cavalry – Standard Bearer (3 pcs)
The colourful guidons and battle flags carried by Union cavalry regiments served a purpose far beyond simple identification. Amidst the smoke, confusion and thunder of mounted combat, the regimental standard became the rallying point around which troopers regrouped, advanced and defended their honour. Carrying these colours demanded exceptional bravery, as enemy soldiers frequently targeted Standard Bearers in an effort to disrupt formations and damage morale.
During the Battle of Brandy Station, Union cavalry demonstrated that it had matured into a force capable of matching its Confederate opponents. The courage displayed by Standard Bearers and their escorts inspired their comrades and contributed to the growing confidence that would prove decisive during the Gettysburg Campaign only weeks later.
This beautifully balanced three-piece set captures one of the Civil War's most iconic cavalry traditions. The dramatic composition, superb sculpting and historically accurate uniforms combine with outstanding hand-painted finishes to produce a display rich in realism and historical character. Whether displayed as a standalone vignette or integrated into a larger cavalry formation, this set immediately draws attention.
Collectors will appreciate the care and craftsmanship evident throughout this impressive release, another example of The Military Workshop's commitment to offering premium historical miniatures.
