39GG-06 – 2 Infantry Firing, 39th New York Volunteer Regiment, Garibaldi Guard
Named in honour of the celebrated Italian nationalist Giuseppe Garibaldi, the 39th New York Volunteer Infantry became popularly known as the Garibaldi Guard. Its multinational character made it one of the more unusual regiments serving in the Union Army.
39GG-06 – 2 Infantry Firing captures two members of the regiment actively engaging the enemy. Their firing poses are particularly useful for creating the front line of a formation already heavily involved in battle.
Combined with loading, skirmishing and standard-bearing figures from the same series, this pair can form part of an impressive representation of the Garibaldi Guard in action.
The Military Workshop is pleased to offer 39GG-06 – a dynamic John Jenkins set for collectors building the Union forces of the American Civil War.
