54MASS-10 – Standard Bearer with Regimental Colors represents the second important component of the 54th Massachusetts colour party. Displayed alongside 54MASS-09, the pair creates an impressive centrepiece for a larger formation of the regiment.

The 54th Massachusetts became especially famous for its courageous assault on Fort Wagner in South Carolina on 18 July 1863, where the regiment suffered heavy casualties and earned widespread respect for its bravery.
