DAM-15 - Two American Militia Casualties | John Jenkins Designs

This two-figure set depicts American militia casualties during the Battle of Oriskany, fought on 6 August 1777 in the Mohawk Valley of New York during the American War of Independence.

The figures represent the casualties suffered by colonial militia during one of the most intense engagements of the Saratoga Campaign.

The Battle of Oriskany occurred when American forces commanded by Brigadier General Nicholas Herkimer attempted to relieve the besieged garrison at Fort Stanwix.

While advancing through wooded terrain, the American column was ambushed by a force of British Loyalists and Indigenous allies under the command of Barry St. Leger.

The battle developed into fierce and confused fighting, with both sides suffering substantial casualties. The heavily wooded landscape contributed to the difficulty of maintaining organised formations and added to the intensity of the engagement.

The two casualty figures provide an important addition to a historically detailed battlefield scene, representing the human cost of the fighting.

DAM-15 is particularly suitable for display alongside American militia, Oneida warriors and other figures from the Battle of Oriskany collection.

The set allows collectors to create a more realistic depiction of the engagement rather than displaying only troops in active fighting poses.
