GG57-01 – Officer – 57th (West Middlesex) Regiment of Foot
The 57th Regiment of Foot, known as the West Middlesex Regiment, carried with it one of the British Army's most famous regimental traditions. Its association with the nickname “The Die Hards” dated back to the Peninsular War and the Battle of Albuera in 1811.
By 1879, the regiment was once again campaigning far from Britain, this time during the Anglo-Zulu War.
GG57-01 portrays an officer of the 57th, providing the essential command figure for John Jenkins Designs' representation of the regiment.
Position him directing his men within the Eshowe Relief Column or at the centre of a larger group of 57th Regiment infantry.
Available from The Military Workshop – a distinguished John Jenkins Designs officer representing the famous “Die Hards” during the Zulu campaign of 1879.
