HMRR-04YN – Eight Hastati – Yellow Shields
A Roman legion looks most convincing when its infantry has the depth and numbers of an organised fighting formation, and HMRR-04YN has been created with precisely that kind of display in mind.
The set contains eight Hastati with yellow shields, giving collectors an immediate block of Roman heavy infantry.
The manipular legion of the Middle Republic is traditionally described as being divided into several lines, allowing fresh troops to support or replace those engaged ahead of them. The Hastati occupied the forward heavy-infantry line, followed by the more experienced Principes and finally the veteran Triarii.
Their flexible organisation helped Roman armies operate across the varied terrain and against the very different opponents encountered during Rome's expansion.
Arrange these eight figures as a compact unit, or combine them with HMRR-04Y and the individual yellow-shield Hastati to produce a much broader battle line.
