INCA-18AN – Three Inca Slingers
A single slinger illustrates the weapon; three slingers begin to show how missile troops could influence a battlefield collectively.
INCA-18AN provides a three-piece grouping for collectors expanding the ranged element of their Inca army.
Slingers could send projectiles towards an approaching enemy before spear-, axe- and club-armed warriors entered close combat. The simplicity of the sling should not disguise the skill required to use it effectively – accurate slinging depended upon considerable practice.
Inca military organisation could bring together large bodies of troops drawn from across the empire, making a substantial missile contingent entirely appropriate within a larger display.
Position these three figures behind the main line or on slightly elevated terrain. Combined with the other INCA-18 and INCA-19 variations, they can form an impressive body of missile troops rather than a token supporting figure.
