JAN-24 – Janissaries offers another addition to the Sultan's infantry and gives collectors further scope to vary a substantial Ottoman formation.

The expansion of gunpowder weapons changed warfare throughout Eurasia, and the Ottoman Empire became one of the major powers to exploit artillery and firearms effectively. Janissaries were closely associated with that changing battlefield.

Their importance, however, extended beyond the weapon in an individual soldier's hands. Permanent organisation, training and connection to the central state gave the corps an institutional significance unusual in its time.

JAN-24 can be mixed through the other Janissary figures or concentrated in a smaller unit around a standard or officer.
