JR-37A – Jacobite Piper

Amid the standards, muskets and charging warriors of the Jacobite army, the piper provides one of the most distinctive figures in the entire collection.

JR-37A – Jacobite Piper represents the musical tradition closely associated with Highland military culture.

Pipers could accompany clan regiments on campaign, and their presence became deeply embedded in later Scottish military tradition. On a battlefield display, the pipes also give the figure an unmistakable silhouette that immediately separates him from the surrounding infantry.

Rather than placing the piper at the very front of the charge, he can be positioned around a clan command group or standard, helping create a visual centre for the formation.

Surrounded by Highlanders, JR-37A adds something that another sword or musket figure cannot – a sense of regimental identity and atmosphere.
