JR-39A – Highlander
JR-39A – Highlander adds another individual warrior to the Jacobite ranks, giving collectors further freedom when arranging a substantial clan formation.
By 1746, the Highland soldiers who reached Culloden had endured a remarkable campaign: victories in Scotland, a winter advance deep into England, withdrawal back across the border and further fighting before the final confrontation near Inverness.
The army that stood at Culloden was therefore not the same fresh force that had begun the Rising months earlier.
An individual figure such as JR-39A is useful for showing that accumulated campaign strength in miniature. Mix him with older releases, pipers, standards and wounded figures rather than grouping identical codes together.
The result is a Highland force that appears to consist of individual men sharing the same battlefield rather than duplicated miniatures.
