MAC-04C – Three Phalangites with White Shields

MAC-04C offers another group of three white-shield Phalangites, ideal for collectors developing a consistent Macedonian unit.

A phalanx display benefits enormously from repetition of the basic military equipment while retaining subtle differences between the soldiers. The army should look organised without appearing like identical figures copied across the battlefield.

The white shield variation provides that sense of unit cohesion. When combined with the other C-coded releases, a sizeable block of matching shields can be created while the individual poses add life throughout the formation.

The sarissas themselves then dominate the visual effect, projecting beyond the front rank and demonstrating why an intact Macedonian phalanx presented such a daunting obstacle.

Place command figures and standards nearby, but allow the massed infantry enough space to remain the centrepiece.
