SNY3-09 - Two Infantrymen, 3rd New York Regiment | John Jenkins Designs
This two-figure set depicts soldiers of the 3rd New York Regiment during the American War of Independence.
The figures represent one infantryman standing at the ready and another kneeling at the ready, providing a complementary pair of poses for a Continental Army defensive formation.
The 3rd New York Regiment was originally authorised in May 1775 and organised under Colonel James Clinton for service during the early stages of the Revolution.
The regiment was subsequently reorganised, with Peter Gansevoort assuming command of its third establishment in December 1776.
During the 1777 campaign, the regiment became associated with the defence of Fort Stanwix, an important American position in the Mohawk Valley.
The British campaign against Fort Stanwix was closely connected with the Battle of Oriskany, fought on 6 August 1777.
The regiment's presence at the fort played a significant role in the American defence of the region during the campaign.
SNY3-09 provides two infantrymen in ready positions, making it particularly suitable for recreating troops awaiting an attack or preparing to fire.
It can be displayed alongside SNY3-09N and the regiment's other infantry and command figures.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
