The figure represents troops landing on Gold Beach, the central British landing area during Operation Overlord. The beach was assigned to the 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division, including the 69th Infantry Brigade and the 6th Battalion, The Green Howards.

The Gold Beach Collection was created by King & Country to specifically portray British troops who landed at Gold Beach rather than the more commonly represented Sword Beach formations. The series includes infantrymen in different battlefield poses, showing the movement, combat, and support roles of a D-Day assault unit.
