CS00413 - Union Command | The Collectors Showcase

During the American Civil War, an infantry formation depended on the direction and coordination of its officers. Command groups were central to the movement of men across a battlefield, whether advancing, holding a position or responding to sudden changes in the fighting.

The CS00413 - Union Command figure captures a particular moment from this wider setting. The command grouping draws attention to the people directing a unit. It makes a strong centrepiece when combined with soldiers in motion, allowing a formation to suggest leadership as well as action.

Placed near soldiers preparing to advance or defending a position, the group helps connect the separate elements of the scene.

An effective centrepiece for a 54mm Union display, it can be positioned with infantry, cavalry or artillery to give the arrangement a clear sense of leadership.
