CS00750 - 11th Virginia Flagbearer | The Collectors Showcase

The American Civil War placed Confederate infantry regiments under immense pressure, as formations struggled to hold their ground, deliver effective fire and maintain cohesion amid the confusion of battle. The 11th Virginia appears in this collection through individual figures representing different moments in a soldier's experience.

The regimental flagbearer occupies a prominent place in this scene, carrying the colours at the heart of the 11th Virginia formation. A flag could serve as a visible point around which troops rallied, even when smoke and the movement of men obscured the battlefield. This pose provides an immediate focal point for a Confederate infantry display and helps distinguish the regiment from an anonymous line of riflemen.

Part of the 54mm American Civil War Confederate range, this figure can be combined with the other 11th Virginia releases to create a more complete regimental scene. It is especially effective when placed among figures showing both the strength and the vulnerability of an infantry line.
