CS01101 - McCords Drummer | The Collectors Showcase

A Civil War infantry formation was far more than a line of men firing their weapons. Flags helped identify the troops, officers directed movement and drums provided an important visual reminder of military organisation. The McCords series brings these distinct roles together alongside soldiers in action.

The McCords Drummer introduces the musical and organisational side of Civil War military life to a battle scene. As a figure distinct from the armed infantrymen, he helps show that an army depended on more than rifles and bayonets. Positioned close to the officer and flagbearer, the drummer adds variety to the group and suggests the signals and routines surrounding an organised regiment.

This 54mm figure is designed to sit naturally with the other McCords releases, giving collectors the chance to combine command, ceremonial and combat roles into a unified Confederate infantry scene.
