GAN-03 – Brevet Captain Thomas C. Collins
The retreat from Kabul in January 1842 remains one of the most disastrous episodes in British imperial military history.
Among the officers caught in the retreat was Thomas C. Collins of the 44th (East Essex) Regiment of Foot, represented here as part of John Jenkins Designs' depiction of the final fighting at Gandamak.
GAN-03 – Brevet Captain Thomas C. Collins gives the collection a named historical personality rather than an anonymous infantry figure, making him particularly valuable within a detailed recreation of the 44th Regiment's last stand.
Placed among the battered survivors of the regiment, Collins helps anchor the scene to the individuals caught in the catastrophe.
Available from The Military Workshop – a historically focused John Jenkins Designs portrayal of Brevet Captain Thomas C. Collins and the doomed retreat from Kabul.
