The Battle of Kadesh was fought on an enormous scale, with Egyptian accounts describing thousands of Hittite infantry supporting the chariots that launched the dramatic initial attack against Ramesses II's forces.
HITT-09AN – 4 Hittite Spearmen from John Jenkins Designs is particularly suited to collectors wanting to recreate that sense of numbers. The four-figure set allows a Hittite army to quickly take shape, adding depth and strength behind the chariot formations.
Hittite infantry were relatively lightly equipped compared with some of their contemporaries, an important consideration for troops expected to campaign across considerable distances. Spears, shields and practical protective equipment provided the basic tools required for service in the king's army.
