In the heat of battle it’s easy lose your Shako or even have it shot off your head. While still keeping his eyes on the enemy this ‘soldado’ reaches down to pick up his headgear.

Guard boxes (sentry boxes) were common features outside military installations, government buildings, barracks, and ceremonial locations across Europe. The design represented by LAH269 follows the traditional wooden sentry-box style that had its origins in earlier European military practice, including the Napoleonic era.
