39GG-16 – 39th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment

Civil War regiments often developed identities closely associated with their home states, commanders or ethnic backgrounds. The 39th New York was particularly distinctive, with men from several European communities serving together under the name Garibaldi Guard.

39GG-16 adds another member of this famous regiment to the collection. Combined with the numerous firing, loading, skirmishing and command figures available, the soldier helps build the numbers required for a convincing Union infantry formation.
