ABHL-01 - Colonel William Prescott | John Jenkins Designs

This individual figure represents Colonel William Prescott, one of the principal American commanders during the Battle of Bunker Hill on 17 June 1775.

Prescott was a Massachusetts militia officer who commanded the colonial forces occupying and defending the fortified position on Breed's Hill, overlooking Boston.

During the night of 16–17 June 1775, American troops constructed earthwork defences on the hill as part of the effort to challenge British control of the surrounding area.

The following day, British regular troops launched repeated attacks against the American position.

Prescott and his men successfully resisted the first two major assaults, inflicting heavy casualties on the attacking forces. The Americans eventually withdrew during the third assault after their ammunition was largely exhausted.

Prescott is closely associated with the famous instruction to conserve ammunition until the British were within close range, although the exact wording and attribution of the order remain subjects of historical debate.

His leadership during the battle made him one of the prominent American figures of the early Revolutionary War.

ABHL-01 provides a central command figure for collectors recreating the defence of Breed's Hill and can be displayed alongside Peter Salem, the American standard bearer and the colonial Minutemen.
