ABHL-05B - Two American Minutemen | John Jenkins Designs

This two-figure set depicts American colonial Minutemen during the Battle of Bunker Hill on 17 June 1775, an important early engagement of the American War of Independence.

The figures form part of the American Army collection representing the militia who defended the fortified positions on Breed's Hill against repeated British attacks.

Minutemen were drawn from organised colonial militia companies and were expected to be ready to respond quickly when called upon. Their training and familiarity with firearms made them an important part of the colonial military forces during the opening stages of the Revolution.

In June 1775, American troops occupied Breed's Hill and constructed earthwork defences overlooking Boston. British forces launched three major assaults against these positions, suffering heavy casualties during the first two attacks.

The Americans eventually withdrew during the third assault after exhausting much of their ammunition, but their resistance demonstrated the determination of the colonial defenders.

ABHL-05B provides two additional Minutemen for collectors assembling a larger American infantry formation.

The set can be combined with ABHL-05A or the four-figure ABHL-05N release and displayed alongside the Breed's Hill Redoubt sections to recreate the colonial defensive positions.
