ABHL-05N - Four American Minutemen | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set represents American colonial Minutemen during the Battle of Bunker Hill, fought on 17 June 1775 near Boston, Massachusetts.
The set contains four Minutemen and provides collectors with an opportunity to build a larger colonial infantry formation for a Revolutionary War battlefield display.
The Minutemen were members of organised colonial militia companies, trained to respond rapidly to military threats. They played an important role during the opening months of the American Revolution, particularly in Massachusetts, where tensions between British regular troops and colonial communities had escalated into armed conflict.
At the Battle of Bunker Hill, American forces occupied Breed's Hill and constructed defensive earthworks overlooking Charlestown and Boston. The position became the centre of intense fighting as British troops attempted to dislodge the defenders.
Although the British eventually captured the position, the colonial forces inflicted significant casualties and demonstrated their ability to resist experienced regular soldiers.
ABHL-05N is ideal for collectors wishing to expand their American forces, particularly when creating larger militia formations around the Breed's Hill fortifications.
The four-figure set complements the smaller ABHL-05A and ABHL-05B releases, allowing for a more extensive colonial battlefield display.
