The muzzle-loading firearms of the Civil War period required soldiers and Marines to perform a practiced sequence of actions under battlefield conditions. While one man fired, others might be loading, priming or preparing their weapons, creating a continuous cycle of activity along the firing line.

ACWM-03 – U.S. Marines, 2 Figures Loading and Firing #1 captures two different stages of this process, immediately adding action to a Marine display.
