AE060 – Mark Antony

Marcus Antonius – Mark Antony – was one of the most powerful Roman figures of the 1st century BC. A soldier, politician and loyal supporter of Julius Caesar, Antony became one of the dominant personalities in Rome following Caesar's assassination in 44 BC.

His name, however, has become inseparable from that of Cleopatra VII of Egypt. Their political alliance developed into one of history's most famous relationships as Antony increasingly based his power in the eastern Mediterranean. Their opposition to Octavian ultimately led to defeat at the Battle of Actium in 31 BC.

AE060 – Mark Antony portrays the Roman general in regal style and makes a natural companion to Cleopatra. Together, the pair represent one of the ancient world's most famous and ultimately tragic partnerships.
