AE067 – The Mud Mixers

Mud brick was one of the fundamental building materials of Ancient Egypt. Made primarily from Nile mud mixed with other materials and dried beneath the Egyptian sun, bricks were extensively used for houses, walls and many other structures.

AE067 – The Mud Mixers captures labourers performing one of the essential jobs involved in this ancient building process. Their working poses bring movement and everyday activity to a construction scene and provide an effective contrast to the grandeur of Pharaohs and royal officials.
