Captain Donald J. Strait was an American fighter pilot who went on to become one of the leading aces of the 356th Fighter Group during the Second World War.

Flying with the 361st Fighter Squadron, Strait flew the formidable P-47 Thunderbolt and later the P-51 Mustang, building an impressive combat record over Europe.
