AG-01A – Germanic Cherusci Warrior
The Cherusci were a Germanic people whose name became permanently linked with one of Rome’s greatest military disasters. Living in the region east of the Rhine, they initially maintained complex relations with Rome before becoming central to a major revolt against Roman authority.
Their most famous leader was Arminius, a Cheruscan nobleman who had served with Roman forces and understood Roman military methods. In AD 9, he led an alliance of Germanic tribes that destroyed three Roman legions commanded by Publius Quinctilius Varus in the Teutoburg Forest.
