Commanding the Afrika Korps, Rommel became famous for his bold and aggressive tactics during the fighting across Libya and Egypt. Mobility was vital in this vast desert battlefield, and staff vehicles allowed commanders and their officers to travel rapidly between headquarters and frontline positions.
