ALB-04M – French Hussar | John Jenkins Designs
ALB-04M represents mounted troops of the French 2nd Hussars during the Battle of Albuera.
The French Hussars joined the Polish Lancers of the Vistula Legion in one of the most devastating cavalry attacks of the Peninsular War.
The timing of the attack could hardly have been worse for the British infantry. Heavy rain and hail had reduced visibility and made it extremely difficult to reload flintlock muskets, while several British battalions remained deployed in line rather than in the defensive squares normally used against cavalry.
The French and Polish horsemen struck the vulnerable flank and rear of the British formation, causing enormous casualties.
ALB-04M brings speed and movement to a larger “Storm of Lancers” diorama.
