ALB-08G – French Lancer | John Jenkins Designs

ALB-08G represents another mounted Polish Lancer of the Vistula Legion during the Battle of Albuera.

The Polish lancers formed part of the cavalry force that swept into the exposed British infantry during a violent storm, catching several battalions before they could form the protective squares normally used against mounted attack.

The 1/3rd Regiment of Foot, “The Buffs”, was among the first units struck and suffered catastrophic casualties as the lancers rode through the formation.

The combination of powerful horses, long lances and the confusion caused by the weather created an almost perfect opportunity for the attacking cavalry.

ALB-08G makes an excellent companion to ALB-08M and helps build a much more imposing lancer charge.

Will be available from The Military Workshop.
