ALB-08M – French Lancer | John Jenkins Designs

ALB-08M depicts a mounted lancer of the 1er Chevau-Légers Lanciers de la Légion de la Vistule, the famous Polish Lancers who played a central role in the cavalry attack at Albuera.

The front rank of the regiment carried formidable nine-foot lances, giving the mounted soldiers a considerable reach advantage over infantry attempting to fight them with bayonets.

When the lancers struck Colborne’s brigade, the British infantry had been blinded by heavy rain and hail and were unable to effectively reload their muskets.

The resulting charge became one of the most devastating cavalry attacks of the Peninsular War and inflicted terrible losses on the British formations caught in its path.

ALB-08M is a dramatic mounted piece and an essential addition to the “Storm of Lancers” collection.

Will be available from The Military Workshop.
