ALB-14M – East Kent “The Buffs” | John Jenkins Designs

ALB-14M represents soldiers of the 1/3rd Regiment of Foot, the East Kent Regiment or “The Buffs”, during the Battle of Albuera.

The Buffs had already seen extensive campaigning in the Peninsula before Albuera, including important service at Oporto and heavy fighting at Talavera.

At Albuera they became the first British regiment to receive the devastating cavalry attack launched by the Polish Lancers and French Hussars during a sudden storm.

The regiment suffered extraordinary losses, with more than 600 casualties from a strength of approximately 755 officers and men.

Despite this disaster, the speed with which the regiment was restored to fighting strength earned it the additional nickname “The Resurrectionists.”

Will be available from The Military Workshop.
