AP-01B – Persian Sparabara Standard Bearer and Officer

The Sparabara formed a distinctive element of the armies of the Achaemenid Persian Empire. Their name is associated with the large spara shields used within Persian infantry formations, providing protection while supporting the archers and other troops positioned around them.

AP-01B – Persian Sparabara Standard Bearer and Officer brings together two important figures within the formation. The officer provides leadership and command, while the standard bearer carries a prominent symbol around which the troops can gather and maintain their identity on the battlefield.

Placed amongst Persian spearmen and archers, the pair creates a natural focal point and helps turn a collection of individual warriors into a more organised military formation.
