AP-38L – Persian Kardake Infantry
At its height, the Achaemenid Empire stretched from the Balkans and Egypt through Western Asia towards the Indus Valley. Maintaining such an enormous realm required an equally diverse military, drawing upon soldiers with different weapons, traditions and methods of warfare.
The Kardake infantry belonged to this fascinating military world. Their exact identity remains uncertain, but they are commonly associated with the later Persian army and with attempts to field infantry capable of meeting heavily armed Greek troops on more equal terms.
AP-38L from John Jenkins Designs provides collectors with another variation of the Kardake warrior, allowing different figures to be combined into a much more convincing Persian formation.
