The great armies of Persia were renowned for their scale and diversity, and nothing captures that impression in miniature quite like massed ranks of infantry.
AP-38LN – 4 Kardake Infantry allows collectors to strengthen their Persian battle line with four warriors from John Jenkins Designs. Rather than displaying isolated figures, the multi-figure configuration creates the impression of a genuine formation preparing to meet an advancing enemy.
Kardake troops are one of the more intriguing elements of the later Achaemenid military. Ancient accounts vary in how they describe them, leaving historians to debate whether they were Persian troops influenced by Greek warfare, mercenaries, or a broader military class supplying different types of infantry.
