APCAV-02 – Persian Cavalry
Cavalry formed an important part of the military forces of the Achaemenid Persian Empire. With vast territories to defend and armies campaigning across enormous distances, mounted troops provided commanders with the speed and mobility needed for reconnaissance, pursuit and battlefield manoeuvre.
APCAV-02 – Persian Cavalry represents one of these mounted warriors, bringing a very different visual element to the Persian army compared with its massed archers, spearmen and Kardake infantry.
The figure can be positioned on the flank of a larger formation, scouting ahead of the main army or joining other Persian horsemen in a concentrated cavalry attack.
Available from The Military Workshop – an impressive John Jenkins mounted figure for adding movement and another important element of Achaemenid warfare to an ancient Persian collection.
