AZ-37B – Aztec Drummer – Plain Base

Music and rhythmic signals played an important role in Aztec ceremonial and military life. Drums could accompany religious ceremonies, processions and warriors, adding sound and spectacle to events that were already rich in colour and symbolism.

AZ-37B – Aztec Drummer – Plain Base represents one of these musicians and provides an interesting change from the armed warriors that dominate most battlefield collections.

The plain-base version offers considerable versatility, allowing the drummer to be incorporated into a military gathering, temple scene or ceremonial procession alongside priests, standards and important Aztec personalities.
