BGC-02 – Renault French Taxi

One of the most memorable stories from the opening stages of the First World War involved the famous Taxis of the Marne. In September 1914, hundreds of Paris taxis were requisitioned to help transport French troops towards the fighting as German forces approached the capital.

Although their actual military impact was limited, the taxis quickly became a powerful symbol of French determination during the First Battle of the Marne.

BGC-02 – Renault French Taxi recreates one of these distinctive early motor vehicles and provides a fascinating alternative to the conventional military vehicles found in a Great War collection.
