BREED-100 - Breed's Hill Redoubt, Main Assembly Set | John Jenkins Designs
This substantial five-piece fortification set provides the principal sections of the Breed's Hill Redoubt, representing the American defensive position at the Battle of Bunker Hill on 17 June 1775.
The set contains five components identified as A, BL, BR, FR and GL, forming the foundation of the modular redoubt assembly.
The American colonial forces constructed earthwork fortifications on Breed's Hill, overlooking Charlestown and Boston, during the early stages of the American War of Independence.
On 17 June 1775, British regular infantry launched repeated attacks against the fortified position.
The American defenders repulsed the first two assaults, inflicting heavy casualties on the attacking troops. During the third assault, the defenders ran short of ammunition and were eventually forced to retreat.
Although the British captured the hill, the battle demonstrated that colonial militia could successfully resist experienced regular soldiers from prepared defensive positions.
BREED-100 forms the foundation of the complete standard redoubt display.
