Few warriors of medieval Spain have achieved the legendary status of Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar – El Cid Campeador.

Born in the 11th century, El Cid served both Christian and Muslim rulers during the complex struggles of medieval Iberia. His military career eventually culminated in his conquest and rule of Valencia, while later literature transformed the historical warrior into one of Spain's great national heroes.

CID-01 places El Cid at the centre of John Jenkins Designs' El Cid and the Reconquista collection.

Surrounded by Castilian knights, infantry and standards, he makes a natural command figure for a substantial medieval Spanish army.
