CSV4-02 – Drummer – Liberty Hall Volunteers, Company I, 4th Virginia Regiment

The Liberty Hall Volunteers have a particularly interesting origin. The company was associated with students from Washington College in Lexington, Virginia, before becoming Company I of the 4th Virginia Infantry.

CSV4-02 represents the company's drummer, an important figure in the organisation and movement of an early Civil War infantry unit.

Placed beside the Liberty Hall Volunteers' officer and flag bearer, he helps create a complete command group around which the company's infantry can be assembled.
