CTSM-09A – Samnite Warriors | John Jenkins Designs

CTSM-09A portrays a group of Samnite infantry, representing the largest and most important of the Oscan peoples who opposed the expansion of Rome.

The Samnites were organised into several major tribal groups and repeatedly fought Rome between 343 and 272 BC.

Their familiarity with mountainous terrain made them particularly dangerous opponents. Flexible formations, mobile tactics and a strong tradition of ambush warfare were often better suited to the Italian hills than the rigid phalanx formations used by many contemporary armies.

The colourful clothing, varied shields and distinctive Italian equipment of these warriors make CTSM-09A an especially attractive set for an ancient battlefield display.

Will be available from The Military Workshop.
