CTSM-09B – Samnite Warriors | John Jenkins Designs

CTSM-09B depicts a group of Samnite Warriors from the Armies and Enemies of Ancient Rome collection.

Samnite warriors were not dressed in a rigidly uniform fashion. Their tunics could be brightly coloured and decorated, while their defensive equipment included both round and oval shields.

One of their most distinctive forms of armour was an Italian cuirass made from small bronze breast and back plates connected by straps, with the triple-disc style being particularly characteristic.

Armed with javelins and short spears, these warriors were well suited to the rugged central Italian countryside in which Rome and the Samnites fought their long and bitter wars.

CTSM-09B provides another varied group for expanding a Samnite battle line.
