CW7FL-08N - 7th Regiment of Foot, Four Royal Fusiliers | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set depicts infantrymen of the British 7th Regiment of Foot, known as the Royal Fusiliers, advancing during the American War of Independence.
The set includes four figures in two distinct advancing poses: two carrying their muskets at the port position and two advancing with bayonets prepared for a charge.
The Royal Fusiliers participated in the British Southern Campaign and formed part of Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton's force at the Battle of Cowpens on 17 January 1781.
A detachment of 171 men from the regiment was assigned to Tarleton's command shortly before the battle, after the Royal Fusiliers had undertaken duties protecting British supply and communication routes in South Carolina.
During the battle, the regiment was positioned on the left of the British line. The engagement ended in defeat, and the regiment's colours were among those captured by the Americans.
The advancing poses make this set particularly suitable for recreating a British infantry attack or building a larger Royal Fusiliers formation.
CW7FL-08N can be combined with CW7FL-04N and the regiment's standard bearer to develop a more complete Battle of Cowpens display.
