CWBL-08N - British Legion Infantry, Four Figures | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set represents marching infantrymen of the British Legion, the Loyalist formation commonly known as Tarleton's Raiders, during the American War of Independence.
The British Legion was established in 1778 and included infantry, cavalry and light artillery, allowing it to operate as a mobile force during British military campaigns.
Although originally commanded by Lord Cathcart, the Legion became closely associated with Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton, who directed its operations during the Southern Campaign.
The regiment was composed largely of American Loyalists serving the British Crown and was distinguished by its green uniform coats.
At the Battle of Cowpens on 17 January 1781, the British Legion formed part of Tarleton's force opposing Brigadier General Daniel Morgan's American army.
This set includes four marching infantry figures, providing collectors with a useful formation for recreating the British Legion on campaign.
The marching poses are particularly suitable for road columns, advancing formations or assembling a larger Loyalist infantry unit.
CWBL-08N can be combined with CWBL-08 and the British Legion mounted troopers to represent the different elements of Tarleton's command.
