CWDEL-05B - Delaware Company, Two Infantrymen | John Jenkins Designs
This two-figure set represents infantrymen of the Delaware Company serving with the American Continental Army during the Battle of Cowpens in January 1781.
The figures depict one soldier standing and firing his musket while wearing blue, accompanied by a second soldier kneeling and firing in tan-coloured clothing. Their contrasting uniforms reflect the varied appearance of Continental troops during the later stages of the American War of Independence.
The Delaware Company was part of the veteran Continental force under John Eager Howard, which played an important role in Brigadier General Daniel Morgan's victory over British forces commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton.
Under Captain Robert Kirkwood, the Delaware soldiers had earned a strong reputation for their discipline and battlefield experience. Their ability to maintain an organised firing line was an important advantage against British regulars.
This set is ideal for creating an active firing position and can be combined with CWDEL-05A and other Delaware Company figures to build a larger representation of the Continental infantry at Cowpens.
